Ugo and Gene kicked off their romance last year after they were introduced by a mutual friend in the US. Their love grew strong and Ugo proposed to the actress earlier this year.The pair were set to walk down the aisle at an intimate fairy-tale wedding in Milan, Italy two weeks ago. Unfortunately, the groom called off their nuptials at the last minute due to the actress excessive and unbearable diva demands. Sources from the groom's camp, alleged the union was doomed from day one after Ugo's father refused to give his blessings to the marriage.
So secretive was the ceremony, no one in Nollywood knew about it - even Gene's own family members had no idea what was going on! She reportedly flew only her closest friends to Milan for the ceremony, including Onyi Onwugbenu, Oluchi Orlandi, and Ojy Okpe.
The whole "secrecy" thing rubbed off on the groom wrongly. He felt Gene had something sinister to hide - which is why she failed to invite anyone from her family - including her own parents,
After Ugo dumped Genevieve on their wedding day and called off the engagement, he reportedly flew to Amsterdam to cool off. While Genevieve took a trip to Canada to attend Toronto International Film Festival, to save face from the monumental disgrace.
